It’s been a little over a month since Alexander was admitted to the hospital. He fought, we all prayed, and by the grace of God he is doing so much better. He has been home for a little over a week and, while getting adjusted to our new lifestyle has been a challenge, the support continues to pour into our family. Jeremiah, Joshua and Cristian are so happy to have their big brother home.
Last Sunday we celebrated my birthday with bowling and a party for my uncle Mark Colville‘s homecoming. Alexander was nervous about using his right arm due to the catheter in his chest but he did very well. He loves bowling and we all cheered when he bowled strikes and spares. We all had a wonderful time.
Last Tuesday I arrived at work to find a sweet surprise. My colleagues decorated my workspace with fresh cut flowers from the campus farm. They sang Happy Birthday and brought delicious homemade lemon cake, brownies, cookies of all sorts, tomatillo salsa and tortilla chips. They all shared kind words of encouragement and did everything to make my return a happy one.
Today Little Jeremiah, who we call Remy for short, has started walking. We’re all excited for his new adventures.
I am so grateful to witness and experience these small but significant moments. I now share them with all of you as part of my ongoing testimony that God brings us through our hardest times. When we find ourselves surrounded in chaos and lacking in faith, we must look inwards for His love and mercy.
+ John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
